The Mizpah Hotel - Real Haunt in Tonopah NV

  • 100 N Main St.
  • Tonopah, NV

The Mizpah Hotel in Tonopah had been closed down for many years before reopening its doors in 2011. It was known as one of the first luxury hotels that opened in the state of Nevada. Although it's known for being high-class, that doesn't stop it from being one of the most haunted locations in the state!

Before it was a hotel, the building was said to have operated as a brothel. Many believe the ghost that haunts the hotel is a woman who resided in the brothel for many years, allowing male guests to stay with her. Rumor has it that an ex-lover of the woman's killed her in her room. Her spirit lingers at the hotel, and some think her name is Rose, while others call her "The Lady in Red." She haunts guests by whispering in unsuspecting men’s ears and leaves pearls under pillows! Why pearls? She was wearing a pearl necklace the night she died.
